New Year Appeal - Big Donors (Direct Mailing)
Dear Friend,
The Navah Organization (NAVAH) would like to take this opportunity
to thank you most sincerely for your kind generosity over the
past year. Thanks to your donation we were able to continue our
vital work in the community visiting terror victims in their homes,
hospitals and rehabilitation centers. We were able to deliver
care packages with your warm messages of comfort and provide them
with financial assistance, on a monthly basis, in their hours
of extreme need. Without your help, we would not have succeeded
in continuing to provide these vital services.
In May 2002 for example, Mrs. A was seriously injured in a terrorist
attack in Rishon LeTzion, and as a result, lost partial use of
her legs. When NAVAH first visited her in the hospital she expressed
doubt that anyone would be able to help her. She explained that
she was unable to return home to care for her four children because
her building could not provide her with a railing that would enable
her to physically access her apartment. That same week, NAVAH
ensured that a railing was installed, and Mrs. A was able to return
home to her family.
In the same attack in Rishon LeTzion, Mr. S, an educated man,
was severely injured -- a nail from the explosion is embedded
in his spine and he is paralyzed. At the same time, he is fighting
cancer. When NAVAH volunteers met him, he requested a laptop that
would enable him to be keep himself occupied and work from home.
NAVAH was able to fulfill his request, and today NAVAH volunteers
continue to visit him and keep in touch.
As we approach the New Year, a time when we celebrate the creation
of the world, and take a moment to reflect and self evaluate,
we hope you will again open your hearts to NAVAH and the thousands
of terror victims and their families, who struggle every day to
cope with their new realities. Rosh Hashanah is referred to in
the Bible as Yom
Ha-Zikkaron (the day of remembrance) - a fitting time to remember
all those people whose lives have been irreparably damaged as
a result of terrorism.

your family "L'shanah tovah tikatev v'taihatem" (May
you be inscribed and sealed for a good year).
